Staff

The main office of the Department of Philosophy is in Stuart Hall 202 in the Main Quadrangle on campus. The office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. During those times, you will find at least one member of our staff on hand and available to be of assistance.

The departmental staff consists of two persons: the Department Administrator, William Weaver, and the Department Assistant, Jessica Barbaro. They are jointly responsible for the smooth functioning of the Department at all times. They are both available to answer any questions you might have and to help direct you to specific faculty and/or graduate students who might be able to help you with any special concerns.

William Weaver is the Department Administrator. He manages the department's graduate affairs, graduate admissions, departmental finances, the website, and faculty and visitor searches; he also provides support to current graduate students, visiting faculty, guest lecturers, the chair, and the faculty directors of the undergraduate and graduate programs. He serves as the main administrative contact between the Department and other units throughout the University.

Jessica Barbaro is the Department’s Administrative Assistant and the main administrative contact for the undergraduate program in Philosophy. She helps to manage the day-to-day operation of the office, processes admissions and faculty search files, plans department events, and schedules courses. She is also Professor Arnold Davidson's (fiorentina@uchicago.edu) department contact.
